Text 3 - College club

I wrote this text as one of my assignments during my English course at ILAC. I don't remember exactly the title or the theme.


The College Film Club is a place where students can socialize and watch different kinds of movies. They can also discuss them. We have activities at least twice a week. Usually on Wednesdays we meet at the College Theater to exhibit blockbuster movies. However, members can vote and choose old movies as well, like 'Scar face' or 'Taxi Driver'. Both movies are considered classic.

Speaking of exhibiting movies, since we are going to be at the Campus until late in the night, the college cafeteria will be open until mid-night. But just in the days we have these events. Every two weeks our club promotes a talk with at least one professional or person who works in the film business. He, or she, can be a producer, a director or even an actor/actress.

We already had the pleasure of hosting an event which Josh Trank, director of the movie 'Chronicle' (2012), has attended as a guest. Chronicle marked Josh's directorial debut. It tells the story of three high school students, teenagers, who gain telekinetic powers after being exposed to an unknown object, a kind of meteor.

Come join us, to make friends, talk with experienced people and, of course, have fun. Next semester will be even better! Since it will be summer, the greatest weather to do outdoor activities, our team will organize some movies exhibitions at night. Spread the word!
